Valentine’s Day Baskets
I have done baskets for a few different holidays and seasons for the girls, but this was my first time putting together a Valentine’s Day basket. The idea came to me when I randomly stopped at Dollar Tree. My goal had been to pick up a few crafts and maybe some decorations for their play kitchen. As I was gathering items, I noticed they had themed buckets as well so I decided to go all in.
I plan to give these to the girls ahead of Valentine’s Day because they are stuffed with fun things for us to do together and for them to enjoy on their own. The point is to build up excitement and fun for the holiday. They will most likely get flowers and a small gift on Valentine’s Day.

I also purchased books for the girls, but I gave those to them early. We love books and I wanted them to have them right away. I did not get Valentine’s Day-themed books because I wanted to get them books that we would keep out for longer. I keep an ongoing list of books on Amazon and purchase them when I notice a decent sale. The books were the most expensive part of the baskets because, other than two very inexpensive craft kits from Michael’s, everything was purchased from Dollar Tree. This is the list of books I got:
I find these baskets to be an inexpensive way to create more fun around different holidays and seasons. A great way to save even more money is to buy crafts and other items for the baskets at the end of a holiday/season. I recently purchased Christmas crafts and activities on major clearance that I can use with the girls at the end of the year.
